New on May 15...

Campout this weekend!!
For this month's campout, we'll go canoeing on the
Little Miami River.  Two forms are required
; they are
here and here .  Bring them completed with payment
to the May 15 troop meeting.

Troop Court of Honor:
Next Tuesday, May 22, we'll hold a Troop Court of Honor at the
Holy Grill at St Gertrude.  Full Class A uniforms (olive
shorts/pants).  Bring families and cameras.

Memorial Day Silent March:
We'll honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice to our country
on May 28 at Madeira's Silent March.  Meet at the Madeira Middle
School parking lot at 9:30 for a walk to McDonald Commons.
Program will follow, but Scouts can leave early if necessary.
Historically, everything is complete by 11:30.  Again, Class A
uniforms as we perform this community service.

Eddy's Eagle Project:
June 2nd at 8:30 a.m. at Ohio Valley Voices; 6642 Branch Hill-
Guinea Pike Loveland, Ohio 45140
.  Eddy will be building five
bridges so please bring work gloves and electric drills (for
screwing in boards) or mattocks if you have them. If we do not
finish or if there is rain, we will reschedule to the next Saturday
which would be June 9th.  Please come for any part of the day.
We will finish around 3:30 p.m.  Lunch will be provided.
 Eddy
really appreciates your help.

Summer Camp (nag, nag, nag):
If your Scout has not had a physical exam between July 2011
and July 2012, he'll need to have a new one, with a completed
BSA medical form. (link on the right side of this page).  Parts A,
B, and C are required for summer camp (not D).  Parents
complete Parts A & B, the examiner will complete Part C.  Word
to the wise--these can be accomplished on a walk-in basis at the
clinics in Walgreen's or Kroger (price somewhere around $40.)
Now is a good time to schedule this to occur as soon as school is
out.  Mr Miller will need these completed and turned in to him
well before camp starts.

"You are what you learn.  If all you know is how to
be a gang member, that's what you'll be, at least
until you learn something else.  If you go to law
school, you'll see the world as a competition.  If
you study engineering, you'll start to see the
world as a complicated machine that needs
tweaking.  A person changes at a fundamental
level as he or she merges with a particular field
of knowledge.  If you don't like who you are, you
have the option of learning until you become
someone else.  There's almost nothing you can't
learn your way out of.  Life is like a jail with an
unlocked, heavy door.  You're free the minute you
realize the door will open if you simply lean into
it."
