New on September 2....

Next Troop Meeting (September 7):
Next Tuesday's troop meeting will consist of leadership elections
at 7:00, with a Court of Honor to follow at 7:30.  Families are
invited to join for the Court of Honor at 7:30.  Bring your camera!

Campout Schedule Changes:
The August campout location was exchanged with the
September campout location, since there was a full moon during
the August campout, which would have made the astronomy
excursion less than what it
should be.  So, September's campout
will be the
Cincinnati Astronomical Society trip.  Currently, it's
planned for September 17-19.  If this date changes, we will let
you know immediately.

CAS Dark Sky Site
Located in Adams County, our 7 acre site is waiting for our
members and guests. The field boasts electrical outlets and a
cement pad for our members who desire a firmer base for their
telescopes. There is a camping area complete with a fire pit, and
grill.

Recruitment:
Recruiting night is September 8.

Seabase Update:
Partial payment of $325 for anyone going to Seabase is due to
Bill Theis within the next two weeks.  Remember, a passport is
required, and processing can take several weeks.

Popcorn Sale 2010:
In addition to our Pack and Troop fundraisers, you can sell
popcorn to help pay for your scouting experience -- camp costs,
equipment, etc.
We will not be selling door-to-door or at Kroger's.  This year we
will be totally on-line, allowing you to send a custom email with a
link to your own account, where family and friends can buy
popcorn and other snacks directly.  No popcorn to pick up and
carry around!  You can also have your family members post your
link on Facebook - anybody that buys popcorn under your
account will mean more profits for you (oh yeah, and more
support for scouting).  You'll profit approximately 30% so if you
sell $1000 work of popcorn that's $300 for you!
It's pretty easy - go to
http://www.trails-end.com/trailsend/scouts/
to "create an account" and start selling.

And a final note from Charlene:
This will be my last update of the Troop 555 website.  As many of
you know, our family will be traveling the U.S. during the next 9
months in an RV (blog: goingdotty.wordpress.com) .  Celia has
very graciously offered to take over the website, and she is
incredibly gifted with this sort of thing.  I'm grateful to her for
making the transition easy and know that great things will occur
here with her talents.
I'm also grateful to all of you who've asked the right questions
and provided information so I knew what to add to the site, and
for all the kind words you've sent my way.  It's been a blessing to
get to know all of you in this venue.  And we'll see you next
summer!
